For more than a decade, I have been committed to guiding my clients through their financial journeys, driven by a deep dedication to their overall well-being.
My journey into the world of financial advisory wasn't an immediate career choice right out of high school; rather, it emerged as a desire to help people make their best financial decisions, so they could live their best lives. What drives me is the desire to instill confidence in people about their financial future, so they look forward to their future with anticipation and confidence.
My focus on working with small business owners, their families, and key employees is deeply personal. This focus stems from the lessons of my own family's experiences. Growing up witnessing my parents' struggles as reluctant entrepreneurs, I witnessed firsthand the consequences of their financial decisions on their retirement plans. I firmly believe had they worked with a financial professional they would have made decisions that could have led to better financial outcomes at retirement. These personal experiences have fueled my commitment to helping others make well-informed financial decisions.
What truly sets me apart is my unique blend of personal history with my professional expertise. I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the table with my clients. I did not start my career off in financial services. I started my adult working career of as an enlisted man in the US Navy. After my service I spent the next several years of my career working as a defense contractor before joining the family printing business after buying out my parent’s business partner. During my time running the family business I came to know and understand the highs and lows and struggles of running a small business. The pressures of trying to run the day-to-day business along with trying to plan and save for the future. By integrating these elements, I possess a distinctive ability to understand my clients' challenges and craft tailor-made solutions that bolster their confidence in their financial future.
My belief in providing comprehensive financial guidance extends beyond mere numbers and charts. I center my philosophy on creating transparent and open relationships, where clients feel at ease discussing their dreams, concerns, and aspirations. Through a thorough analysis process and a profound grasp of each client's distinct situation, I craft personalized strategies that seek to pave the way towards lasting financial clarity and confidence.
I received my Bachelor of Science in Business Management from the University of Phoenix prior to starting my career as a Financial Advisor. I am an Investment Advisor Representative and Registered Representative and I have advanced certifications as Certified Retirement Counselor (CRC®) and Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®). These certifications require me to act in as investment fiduciary capacity for my clients. I am also a licensed life and health insurance agent.
My licensing and credentials require me to act in my client’s best interest and to put my client’s interest before my own. But that’s not why I always put my client’s interest first. It’s because that is just the way I am. I value honesty and integrity and I like to be able to sleep at night with a clear conscience. I very much believe in the golden rule “Treat others as you want to be treated”.
When not helping clients achieve greater confidence around their financial future, I enjoy spending time with friends and family. Friday nights will often me and my wife hanging out with friends enjoying a nice BBQ steak and glass of wine. I like a nice cabernet and my wife enjoys the sweeter side of a Riesling; steaks are always medium-rare. When I can I like to get in a round of golf. Breaking 100 is a good day on the course for me. Can’t seem to find the time to play or practice enough to bring the handicap down.
I served on the board of directors for the San Diego East County Chamber of Commerce from 2015 to 2020 and as Chair of the Board in 2017. I also served as the Committee Chair for Young Life East County; a faith based non-profit organization from 2018 to 2023.
